Quick Wrap: Nifty Media Index gains 2.76%

Nifty Media index closed up 2.76% at 1861.5 today. The index has slipped 9.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Dish TV India Ltd added 8.39%, Hathway Cable & Datacom Ltd rose 7.61% and Eros International Media Ltd gained 4.52%. The Nifty Media index has fallen 35.00% over last one year compared to the 3.55% slide in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty Metal index gained 2.34% and Nifty Commodities index increased 1.64% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 increased 0.95% to close at 11029.4 while the SENSEX recorded a gain of 0.82% to close at 37262.46 today.
