Quick Wrap: Nifty Media Index registers a drop of 4.41%, NIFTY Crashes 1.25%

Nifty Media index closed down 4.41% at 1785.65 today. The index has lost 4.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Dish TV India Ltd dropped 8.37%, Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd fell 7.92% and Jagran Prakashan Ltd shed 6.52%. The Nifty Media index has decreased 31.00% over last one year compared to the 4.71% fall in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty PSU Bank index has slid 2.25% and Nifty Private Bank index has slid 1.80% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 has declined 1.25% to close at 10704.8 while the SENSEX has slid 1.29% to close at 36093.47 today.
