Quick Wrap: Nifty Metal Index declines 3.36%

Nifty Metal index ended down 3.36% at 2226.45 today. The index is down 15.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Jindal Steel & Power Ltd slipped 7.93%, Steel Authority of India Ltd fell 5.33% and Vedanta Ltd dropped 4.16%. The Nifty Metal index is down 38.00% over last one year compared to the 5.90% decline in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty Realty index added 2.38% and Nifty Auto index has slid 1.88% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 has declined 0.53% to close at 11046.1 while the SENSEX is down 0.50% to close at 37451.84 today.
