Quick Wrap: Nifty Metal Index registers a drop of 1.96%

Nifty Metal index closed down 1.96% at 2506.6 today. The index has added 5.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, National Aluminium Company Ltd fell 3.21%, Vedanta Ltd shed 2.96% and Hindalco Industries Ltd dropped 2.41%. The Nifty Metal index has decreased 26.00% over last one year compared to the 12.25% spike in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty Financial Services index increased 1.02% and Nifty IT index increased 0.97% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 witnessed a rise of 0.27% to close at 11872.1 while the SENSEX witnessed a rise of 0.42% to close at 40286.48 today.
