Quick Wrap: Nifty Pharma Index registers a drop of 2.09%

Nifty Pharma index closed down 2.09% at 8237.05 today. The index has added 2.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Piramal Enterprises Ltd fell 7.30%, Aurobindo Pharma Ltd slipped 5.34% and Glenmark Pharmaceuticals Ltd dropped 4.68%. The Nifty Pharma index has decreased 6.00% over last one year compared to the 12.99% spike in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty FMCG index has slid 1.56% and Nifty Metal index is down 1.39% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 is down 0.77% to close at 12035.8 while the SENSEX has declined 0.82% to close at 40861.57 today.
