Quick Wrap: Nifty PSU Bank Index falls 5.63%, NIFTY Tumbles 1.28%

Nifty PSU Bank index ended down 5.63% at 2380.8 today. The index has slipped 4.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, State Bank of India shed 7.39%, Union Bank of India fell 5.93% and Bank of India slipped 5.88%. The Nifty PSU Bank index has fallen 15.00% over last one year compared to the 3.37% increase in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty Auto index has dropped 3.90% and Nifty Realty index has slid 3.06% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 has declined 1.28% to close at 11440.2 while the SENSEX has dropped 1.29% to close at 38593.52 today.
