Quick Wrap: Nifty PSU Bank Index records a surge of 2.16,NIFTY climbs 1.17%

Nifty PSU Bank index ended up 2.16% at 3283.9 today. The index has added 6.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Union Bank of India jumped 3.64%, Canara Bank added 3.06% and State Bank of India gained 2.51%. The Nifty PSU Bank index has decreased 1.00% over last one year compared to the 18.62% spike in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty IT index increased 1.67% and Nifty Private Bank index increased 1.66% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 witnessed a rise of 1.17% to close at 11691.95 while the SENSEX witnessed a rise of 1.16% to close at 38694.11 today.
