Quick Wrap: Nifty PSU Bank Index registers a drop of 5.13%, NIFTY Crashes 2.48%

Nifty PSU Bank index closed down 5.13% at 1794.8 today. The index has lost 20.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Union Bank of India fell 7.09%, State Bank of India shed 6.24% and Canara Bank dropped 6.18%. The Nifty PSU Bank index has decreased 39.00% over last one year compared to the 0.62% fall in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty Media index has slid 4.93% and Nifty Metal index has dropped 4.42% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 has dropped 2.48% to close at 10989.45 while the SENSEX has declined 2.32% to close at 37576.62 today.
