Telecom shares rise
Telecom stocks were trading with gains, with the S&P BSE Telecom index rising 10.28 points or 0.93% at 1110.93 at 09:48 IST.
Among the components of the S&P BSE Telecom index, Reliance Communications Ltd (up 4.6%), Sterlite Technologies Ltd (up 2.8%),Optiemus Infracom Ltd (up 2.27%),Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Ltd (up 2.21%),Tejas Networks Ltd (up 1.7%), were the top gainers. Among the other gainers were Bharti Airtel Ltd (up 1.02%), Bharti Infratel Ltd (up 0.78%), OnMobile Global Ltd (up 0.66%), Vodafone Idea Ltd (up 0.5%), and ITI Ltd (up 0.05%).
On the other hand, GTL Infrastructure Ltd (down 2.44%), moved lower.
At 09:48 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 174.11 or 0.42% at 41337.87.
The Nifty 50 index was up 53.65 points or 0.44% at 12180.2.
The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 67.54 points or 0.5% at 13502.56.
The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was up 23.19 points or 0.49% at 4725.99.
On BSE,1023 shares were trading in green, 411 were trading in red and 61 were unchanged.
