Telecom stocks rise

Telecom stocks were trading in green, with the S&P BSE Telecom index increasing 2.38 points or 0.22% at 1072.13 at 09:48 IST.

Among the components of the S&P BSE Telecom index, Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Ltd (up 4.92%), Optiemus Infracom Ltd (up 1.93%), Bharti Infratel Ltd (up 1.15%), HFCL Ltd (up 0.58%), and Bharti Airtel Ltd (up 0.12%), were the top gainers.

On the other hand, GTL Infrastructure Ltd (down 4.26%), Sterlite Technologies Ltd (down 3.22%), and ITI Ltd (down 2.79%) turned lower.

At 09:48 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was down 2.55 or 0.01% at 41007.16.

The Nifty 50 index was down 8.85 points or 0.07% at 12077.85.

 

The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 41.03 points or 0.31% at 13373.69.

The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was up 5.13 points or 0.11% at 4712.15.

On BSE,812 shares were trading in green, 594 were trading in red and 91 were unchanged.
