Telecom stocks fall

Telecom stocks were trading in red, with the S&P BSE Telecom index decreasing 47.63 points or 4.29% at 1063.33 at 13:47 IST.

Among the components of the S&P BSE Telecom index, Vodafone Idea Ltd (down 10.53%), Bharti Infratel Ltd (down 6.46%),Optiemus Infracom Ltd (down 4.9%),GTL Infrastructure Ltd (down 4.08%),Bharti Airtel Ltd (down 3.68%), were the top losers. Among the other losers were Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Ltd (down 2.67%), Vindhya Telelinks Ltd (down 1.24%), OnMobile Global Ltd (down 0.7%), and HFCL Ltd (down 0.29%).

On the other hand, Tejas Networks Ltd (up 9.99%), Reliance Communications Ltd (up 4.35%), and ITI Ltd (up 2.23%) turned up.

 

At 13:47 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 51.37 or 0.13% at 40940.6.

The Nifty 50 index was up 19.6 points or 0.16% at 12093.35.

The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 27.15 points or 0.2% at 13489.42.

The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was down 0.85 points or 0.02% at 4708.75.

On BSE,1124 shares were trading in green, 1210 were trading in red and 176 were unchanged.
