Telecom stocks rise
Telecom stocks were trading with gains, with the S&P BSE Telecom index increasing 7.51 points or 0.83% at 913.62 at 09:45 IST.
Among the components of the S&P BSE Telecom index, ITI Ltd (up 6.13%), OnMobile Global Ltd (up 4.93%),GTL Infrastructure Ltd (up 4.35%),Sterlite Technologies Ltd (up 4.11%),Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Ltd (up 2.16%), were the top gainers. Among the other gainers were Himachal Futuristic Communications Ltd (up 1.83%), Bharti Airtel Ltd (up 0.81%), and Bharti Infratel Ltd (up 0.56%).
On the other hand, Reliance Communications Ltd (down 1.06%), Vodafone Idea Ltd (down 0.79%), and Tejas Networks Ltd (down 0.69%) turned lower.
At 09:45 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 94.01 or 0.26% at 36575.1.
The Nifty 50 index was up 23.25 points or 0.21% at 10840.85.
The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 45.98 points or 0.36% at 12901.34.
The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was up 6.46 points or 0.15% at 4263.39.
On BSE,909 shares were trading in green, 395 were trading in red and 53 were unchanged.
