Telecom shares fall

Telecom stocks were trading in the negative zone, with the S&P BSE Telecom index falling 6.07 points or 0.66% at 914.7 at 13:50 IST.

Among the components of the S&P BSE Telecom index, Tejas Networks Ltd (up 3.13%), Vodafone Idea Ltd (up 2.35%), Bharti Airtel Ltd (up 1.37%), Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Ltd (up 1.33%), Himachal Futuristic Communications Ltd (up 1.01%), and Tata Communications Ltd (up 0.54%), were the top losers.

On the other hand, GTL Infrastructure Ltd (up 5%), Reliance Communications Ltd (up 4.88%), and OnMobile Global Ltd (up 4.67%) moved up.

At 13:50 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 89.53 or 0.24% at 37193.81.

 

The Nifty 50 index was up 27.25 points or 0.25% at 11010.05.

The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 58.74 points or 0.46% at 12966.43.

The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was up 8.95 points or 0.21% at 4314.81.

On BSE,1211 shares were trading in green, 1051 were trading in red and 141 were unchanged.
