TVS Motor gains after strong sales in September

TVS Motor Company rose 1.31% to Rs 231.90 at 9:46 IST on BSE after the company said its total sales rose 27% to 2.50 lakh units in September 2014 over September 2013.

The sales numbers were announced after market hours on Wednesday, 1 October 2014.

Meanwhile, the S&P BSE Sensex was down 31.68 points or 0.12% at 26,536.31.

On BSE, so far 89,000 shares were traded in the counter as against average daily volume of 4.60 lakh shares in the past two weeks.

The stock hit a high of Rs 234.15 and a low of Rs 231.50 so far during the day.

 

TVS Motor Company (TVS Motor)'s exports grew by 15% to 31,616 units in September 2014 over September 2013. Two-wheeler exports rose 15% to 24,221 units in September 2014 over September 2013. The company's total two-wheeler sales surged 28% to 2.41 lakh units in September 2014 over September 2013. Domestic two-wheeler sales jumped 29% to 2.17 lakh units in September 2014 over September 2013. Scooter sales jumped 63% to 70,508 units in September 2014 over September 2013. Motorcyle sales rose 18% to 98,052 units in September 2014 over September 2013. Three-wheeler sales rose 18% to 9,167 units in September 2014 over September 2013.

TVS Motor's total sales rose 35% to 6.77 lakh units in Q2 September 2014 over Q2 September 2013. Total two wheeler sales grew by 36% to 6.49 lakh units in Q2 September 2014 over Q2 September 2013. Total three wheeler sales grew by 24% to 0.28 lakh units in Q2 September 2014 over Q2 September 2013.

TVS Motor Company's net profit jumped 39.4% to Rs 72.32 crore on 30.1% growth in net sales to Rs 2263.21 crore in Q1 June 2014 over Q1 June 2013.
