350,000 households without power in Tokyo

A massive blackout in Tokyo on Wednesday left 350,000 households without power, authorities said.

According to the Tokyo Electric Power Co, the outage was suspected to have been caused by a fire at one of its facilities near the Japanese capital, public broadcaster NHK reported.

The power failure also disrupted train services.
