A 7.0 magnitude earthquake jolted the Solomon Islands at 6.31 p.m. Wednesday, Beijing time, according to the China Earthquake Networks Center.
The epicentre, with a depth of 103 kilometers, was determined to be at 5.9 degrees south latitude and 155.1 degrees east longitude, Xinhua cited the centre as saying.
