Bangladesh earns over $19 billion from July-January exports

Bangladesh's total exports in the first seven months of the current July 2015-June 2016 fiscal year exceeded $19 billion, two percent higher than the target for the period, official data showed on Tuesday.

According to the country's Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) data, Bangladesh fetched $19.027 billion from exports in seven months of the current fiscal year, XInhua reported.

The EPB data showed export performance for January was $3.19 billion, 10.38 percent higher than that in the same month a year ago.

Bangladesh export income in the last 2014-15 fiscal year (July 2014-June 2015) grew at a moderate rate of over six percent to $31.21 billion.

 

The country set its export target in 2015-16 fiscal year at $33.5 billion.
