At least six policemen were killed Monday and 15 others wounded in bomb attacks on a police headquarter in Iraq, the police said.

"The latest report said that six policemen were killed and 15 others wounded, including a police officer," the source told Xinhua.

The attacks occurred in the morning when two suicide bombers blew themselves up at the police command of Fallujah, a city some 50 km west of Baghdad, he said.

The suicide bombings were followed by mortar barrage and small arms fire by gunmen on the site, sparking fierce clashes between the guards and the attackers, the source added.

Monday's attack came a day after suicide bomb attacks at a local government compound in the city of Rawa in Anbar province that killed at least 12 people and wounded some 27 others.
