Delhi minor dies in Goa hotel swimming pool, management booked

A nine-year-old boy from Delhi has drowned in a hotel swimming pool at the popular Calangute beach village, a police official said on Thursday.
The incident occurred late on Wednesday night, said Jivba Dalvi, the Officer In-charge of the Calangute Police Station, adding that the victim was holidaying in Goa along with his parents.
"We have booked an lodged a case against the resort management under Section 304-A (negligence) of the Indian Penal Code for their negligent manner in maintaining the swimming pool by not providing any pool attendant or life guard there," Dalvi told reporters here.
The boy had wandered into the pool, without the knowledge of his parents, he said.
The body was handed over to the parents on Thursday, after the post-mortem examination was conducted, Dalvi said ruling out any foul play.
