Delhi sends 7 tonnes of food items to Uttarakhand

The Delhi government Friday dispatched seven tonnes of non-perishable food articles to flood victims in Uttarakhand.
Flagging off Uttarakhand-bound trucks loaded with the food articles, Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit described the tragedy in the hill state as a "devastating" natural calamity.
The material comprises packets of non-perishable, ready-to-eat articles which would be airdropped from helicopters. The food articles have been contributed by Thakurdwara Trust.
Dikshit appreciated the step taken by the trust and called upon all to come forward in helping the flood-affected people of Uttarakhand.
