Driver held for raping minor girl

A 13-year-old girl was raped by a driver known to her, on pretext of giving her a joyride in his vehicle, police said Monday.

The accused was later arrested on the victim's statement.

Nitin, 26, allegedly took the victim to a secluded place in Ranhola area of west Delhi Saturday and raped her.

"The accused was arrested late Saturday when the girl somehow reached her home and informed her parents about her ordeal. They then lodged a formal complaint," said a police official.

Both, the victim and the accused, belong to Ranhola and know each other, said the official.
