Ecuador president hails national team

Quito, June 21 (IANS/EFE) Ecuadorian president Rafael Correa is very supportive and proud of his national team's 2-1 win over Honduras in a Group F clash at the FIFA World Cup Friday.

"Regardless of the outcome, we are proud of our team," Correa tweeted, reports EFE.

Ecuador grabbed their victory after losing 1-2 to Switzerland in the opener.
