IANS  |  Kochi

The party in was put in an embarrassing spot after the party's senior member Vivek Tankha, a former Additional Solicitor General of India, appeared as counsel for state Transport Minister Thomas Chandy who is facing land grab allegations.

The party has been attacking the Pinarayi Vijayan government over Chandy's alleged land grab and has demanded his sacking.

On Tuesday, the High Court dismissed a petition by Chandy for quashing the Alappuzha district collector's report which alleged large-scale land grab by him to build a plush resort.

A group of Youth activists waved black flags at Tankha and shouted slogans just before he left for the High Court.
