February e-recruitment up 16% over last year:

activities rose 16 per cent year-on-year (Y-o-Y) during February, a report said on Wednesday.

The report said the home appliances sector continued to lead the long-term growth chart with 71 per cent increase.

"Among industry sectors, home appliance industry (up 59 per cent) registered the steepest growth on an annual basis for the eight months in succession," the report said, however, adding that, the year-on-year growth momentum in the sector slowed in the past three months.

The year-on-year growth rate in - hardware, software - was 22 per cent and in telecom sector was up 49 per cent in February over the same period last year.

However in the BPO and information technology-enabled serives recruitment growth slowed down by 24 per cent sector.

"in retail (up 13 per cent) sector picked up this month," the report said.

"While banking, and insurance (up 34 per cent) remained one of the strongest sectors by the way of long-term growth, the rate of growth moderated further between January (36 per cent) and February. Month-on-month, there was no increase in activity in the sector," it said.
