Gold chain, cash, revolver snatched from jeweller

Three motorcycle-borne robbers looted Rs 2.1 lakh in cash, a gold chain and a licensed revolver from a jeweller here on Monday.

The incident occurred on National Highway 24.

Police said when Brahm Swarup Gupta, who runs a jewellery shop in Dasna town, was going to his shop, three robbers on a bike knocked down Gupta who too was on a motorcycle.

Two of the three robbers snatched a gold chain from his neck, snatched a bag containing the cash and keys of his shop and took away his revolver too.

Gupta told the police that the gold chain weighed 130 grams and was worth Rs 400,000. He also lost Rs 2.1 lakh in cash and other articles worth Rs 7 lakh.

 

"We have registered a complaint and efforts are being made to arrest the robbers at the earliest," said police Inspector Umesh Bahadur Singh.
