Haryana woman accuses father-in-law of raping her

A case was registered on the complaint of a 23-year-old woman who said her father-in-law raped her, police said here on Saturday.

The woman, who hails from Rewari district of Haryana, got married last year into a family in Bas Lambi village in this district.

She said in her complaint to the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) of Rewari that she was molested by her father-in-law a month after her marriage but she remained silent about the incident fearing social stigma.

She said she was raped by her father-in-law when there was no one else present in her home.

"We have registered a case under sections 376 and 354 of Indian Penal Code and are investigating," chief of Bilaspur police station in Gurgaon district said.
