Jet-ski assistant dies mid-sea, probe ordered
A jet-ski assistant died in an accident at sea off here Friday and a probe has been ordered, officials said.
Goa Tourism Minister Manohar Ajgaonkar meanwhile threatened stern action against unauthorised water sports operators.
"An enquiry has been ordered and a report will be submitted within 24 hours... The Tourism Minister proposed to take stern action against unauthorised water sports operators along the beach belt," a Tourism Department statement said.
The jet-ski assistant drowned off Varca beach.
Popular with tourists, jet-ski rides are offered by scores of water sports operators on Goa's popular beaches.
