Jeweller shot dead in Haryana

A 40-year-old jeweller was shot dead in his shop here by two unidentified men, a police officer said on Saturday.

While Pawan Kumar was opening his showroom here in Gurgaon district of Haryana on Friday evening, two men came on a motorcycle, shot at him at point blank range and sped away, the police officer said.

The showroom was closed in the daytime on account of the jewellers' strike.

"Jewellery and ornaments kept in the showroom were intact. The incident, prima facie, indicates personal rivalry," said the police officer.

A case was registered at Sadar police station.
