Karnataka minister resigns over sleaze tape

Karnataka Excise Minister H.Y. Meti resigned here on Wednesday after a sleaze tape showing him having an affair with a woman surfaced and local news channels began airing it, an official said.

The 70-year-old "Meti called on Chief Minister Siddaramaiah at the latter's official residence here and submitted his resignation letter. It will be sent to the Governor soon for acceptance," an official from the Chief Minister's Office told IANS here.
