North Korea Saturday rejected US Secretary of State John Kerry's remarks terming the country as an "evil place", saying they were "another vivid expression of the US hostile policy" toward it.

North Korean foreign ministry dismissed the remarks as no more than "a manifestation of (Kerry's) frustration and outbursts", adding Kerry should be aware that "no pressure is workable" on North Korea, Xinhua reported.

"The United States, in disregard of international law, better ponder over itself before blaming others, as it commits horrible genocide in various parts of the world under the signboard of 'liberty' and 'democracy'," a spokesperson of the ministry said.

No problem could be solved as long as the US persists in its "hostile policy" toward North Korea, the official said.
