Law strengthened to ensure women's safety: PM

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh Thursday said the government has strengthened the law dealing with offences against women to ensure their greater safety.

"For ensuring better safety and security for women, we have strengthened the law dealing with offences against women," he said addressing the nation from the ramparts of the Red Fort on the country's 67th Independence Day.
