Myanmar releases 73 prisoners

A total of 73 inmates, including 68 political prisoners, have been released from prisons in Myanmar under a fresh amnesty by the government.
The prisoners were freed after President U Thein Sein returned from official visits to Britain and France, Xinhua reported.
The authorities had freed 23 prisoners in May.
So far, a total of 29,764 prisoners are estimated to have been pardoned since the new civilian government took office in March 2011.
