A man in China, dissatisfied with the medical treatment given to him, killed his doctor at the hospital, authorities said.
The incident occurred Monday morning in China's Heilongjiang province when Sun Dongtao, head of the ear, nose and throat department of a hospital was repeatedly hit on the head with an iron bar at about 10 a.m. while performing his outpatient care duties, Xinhua quoted police as saying.
The doctor died after emergency treatment failed.
The suspect, surnamed Qi, a local resident who had a nose illness, was unhappy with treatment that he received from Sun and thus wanted revenge, an initial police investigation found.
Armed with a 50-cm-long iron tube, Qi broke into the outpatient room and attacked Sun. Police later arrested him.
