The Vedas can no more remain in the preserve of a few and all should have the right and facility to learn them, said scholars at a vedic conference in Kerala Thursday.

Organised by the Kasyapa Veda Research Foundation (KVRF), the Feb 13-19 'Somayagam' event in the suburban town of Karaparamba ensured involvement and participation of people irrespective of caste and religion.

Inaugurated by yoga guru Baba Ramdev, the 90-minute session was addressed by former union minister O. Rajagopal, Indian Union Muslim League leader Panakkad Sayyid Sadique Ali Shihab Thangal and Bharatiya Janata Party leader P.S. Sreedharan Pillai.

The conference also featured an array of speakers ranging from heritage scholars and religious heads to politicians and industrialists.
