Sindhu's silver medal most precious jewel: Sonia Gandhi

Congress President Sonia Gandhi on Friday congratulated P.V. Sindhu, saying her silver medal at the Rio Olympics was "the most precious jewel in the crown of Mother India".

"Her silver medal is the most precious jewel in the crown of Mother India today and she has set examples for generation to come," she said in her message.

Sonia Gandhi said that Sindhu played like a star.

Saying that Sindhu has made Indians proud, Gandhi also congratulated the player's family and coach Gopichand.
