Smriti Irani undergoes surgery at Gurgaon hospital

Union HRD Minister Smriti Irani has undergone thyroid surgery at a hospital here and is recovering now, an official said on Thursday.

Irani was admitted to Medicity Medanta hospital in Sector 38 on Monday for the surgery and she was operated on by a team of a doctors led by senior consultant Dr. Rajesh Kumar on the same day, a source told IANS.

"Her parameters are stable and the patient is recovering well," the source said wishing anonymity.

Union minister Harsh Vardhan visited the hospital on Thursday and enquired about Irani's condition.
