US lauds women union's vision in empowering UAE women

Abu Dhabi, April 28 (IANS/WAM) US ambassador to the UAE Barbara A. Leaf on Thursday lauded the General Women's Union (GWU) for its vision and unwavering support for empowering women in the UAE for achieving development and progress.

Leaf expressed her delight in learning about the development process of Emirati women in all political, cultural and sports areas.

The US envoy acknowledged GWU chair Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak's role in supporting humanitarian, charitable activities and the advancement of women's empowerment.
