Russia on Thursday said that the US has not fulfilled its obligations under a ceasefire deal in Syria.
"We are concerned about the way the agreement is being sabotaged by a number of structures and of course, the anti-government forces in Syria and their foreign supporters," Xinhua news agency quoted Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov as saying.
"The US side cannot guarantee the fulfilment of a whole number of elements of this agreement, which we saw in the past few days," he said, adding that Washington "did not separate moderate Syrian rebel forces from terrorists".
The recent air strike by the US-led coalition on the Syrian military "is a very dramatic development regarding the agreement that we are talking about. It's a direct strike on its foundation," he said.
Meanwhile, Ryabkov said that the US proposal to ban any aircraft operations in a number of Syrian regions will not work.
"I do not think this plan will work, at least until the US and other sides engaged in this process make sure that the relevant actors, which see war as the only way to resolve the problem, stop using force," Ryabkov said.
