US to meet China in FIVB Women's Worlds final

The US has overpowered Brazil 3-0 to meet China in the FIVB Women's World Championship final.

The crowd witnessed Saturday world No. 2 the US and No.1 Brazil 25-18, 29-27, 25-20 in a rumble of the top two teams in the FIVB world rankings, Xinhua reported.

After a break because of three quick sets opening semi-final victory by the US, the Italians re-energized at the start of the match but was short-lived as China won the first two sets and went on to win 25-21, 25-20, 20-25, 30-28.

The US reached the World Championship semi-finals for the second time in row, they, however, have never won a major international title.

 

China will attempt to win their third World Championship title. They also encountered Italy in the 2002 semi-finals, but lost 3-1 as Italy went on to win their only title.
