Wawrinka crowned Australian Open champion

Swiss eighth-seed Stanislas Wawrinka won his first Grand Slam title, beating top seed Rafael Nadal of Spain in four sets in the final of the Australian Open here Sunday.

Wawrinka beat Nadal 6-3, 6-2, 3-6, 6-3 at the Rod Laver Arena in two hours and 21 minutes.
