Still on external affairs

Former minister of state for external affairs Shashi Tharoor may have lost his post but he is not out of work completely. He has been quickly nominated to the Parliamentary Standing Committee on External Affairs from the Congress party. At the same time, Congress President Sonia Gandhi has told him to concentrate on the development of Thiruvananthapuram, Tharoor's Lok Sabha constituency. While Tharoor may be interested in taking up more responsibilities at the state level, his detractors in the Kerala unit of the Congress are clear that Tharoor can't play any role in the party even as the state will go for Assembly polls next year
