Arunachal BJP terms food ordinance 'historic blunder'
They said the Bill would open up floodgates of corruption
)
Arunachal Pradesh unit of BJP has termed the passing of National Food Security Ordinance (NFSO) 2013 by UPA-II government at the Centre as a 'historic' blunder for opening up "floodgates of corruption".
In a statement today, the party said that the irony was that Congress-led government under Chief Minister Nabam Tuki has failed to follow one of the most important features of the NFSO by not constituting State Food Security Commission.
"The Commission, a quasi-judicial body, must advice the state government on effective implementation of the scheme," party state unit president Tai Tagak said in the statement.
It also alleged that "the in-consistent launching of the NFSO will not provide transparency and accountability to the poor citizens of the state in availing of the highly subsidized food and nutrition supplement.
