Directives to deal with flood situation in eastern districts of Uttar Pradesh have been issued and the government would take all possible steps to avert a tragedy, Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav said today.
"Whether there is excessive rainfall on the hills or in Nepal, it would have an impact in Purvanchal. Therefore, we should remain prepared for dealing with the flood situation here," Akhilesh told reporters in response to a question on floods in this part of the state.
The Chief Minister said necessary directives had been issued to the officials concerned to deal with the situation and the government would take all measures in this regard.
