Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) President M Karunanidhi has sought the Government of Tamil Nadu to bring an end to the rumours about the health condition of Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa by releasing her photograph and details on her health.

In a statement issued today, Karunanidhi, who is also a former Chief Minister, opined that unwanted rumours are being created and distributed among the people about her health condition, since there is lack of adequate information from the state government.

He added that the government should have appointed a medical team and come out with proper information about her health, in order to avoid any such rumours and as a relief to her supporters.

She was admitted in Chennai's Apollo Hospital following fever and dehydration and later recovered from fever, according to the hospital management. She has been advised to stay a few days in the hospital for recuperative treatment and has responded well to the treatment, said the hospital in a statement on Thursday night.
