UP CM allots portfolios to new ministers

Seven ministers, five cabinet and two ministers of state, who were administered oath in January this year were allocated their portfolios

The Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav today allocated the portfolios to seven ministers, five cabinet and two ministers of state, who were administered oath in January this year.

Among the Cabinet ministers Gayatri Prasad Prajapati has been given Mines and Minerals department, whereas Shivakant Ojha was allocated the Technical Education department, an official statement said.

The others include Iqbal Mehmood Secondary Education, Mehboob Ali Fisheries and Public Enterprises, and Shahid Manzoor Labour and Employment.

These three were elevated to the cabinet rank in the sixth expansion of his ministry by the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister in January.

Minister of State for Agriculture Manoj Pandey was elevated to the rank of Cabinet minister, it said.
 

Among the Ministers of State, Fareed Mehfooq Kidwai has been allocated the portfolio of Forest department and would work under the CM.

Yasar Shah has been given Energy department, the statement said.
