'New pill lets effects of botox last for 30 per cent longer'

Researchers have developed a new pill 'Zytaze', which they claim can make the wrinkle-smoothing effects of Botox injections last for 30 per cent longer.
Cosmetic jabs are used to combat wrinkles, but the downside is that the benefits last for just three months.
A clinical trial of the pill found that 92 per cent of patients taking Zytaze reported Botox treatments lasted for several weeks longer than normal, and also helped the jab to take effect more quickly, the Daily Mail reported.
The new pill contains zinc and an enzyme called phytase which helps the vitamin to be absorbed.
A pack of ten costs 45 pounds while zinc supplements cost 8 pounds for 100 tablets.

However, US manufacturer Eden Aesthetics have claimed that just taking a cheaper zinc supplement will not have the same effect.
The pill is unique and can reduce the price of Botox for regular users, they claim.
Zytaze patients have to take two 25 mg pills a day for four days prior to having Botox and on the day they receive the jab.
The findings were published in the Journal of Drugs in Dermatology.
