A four-year-old child died and five others of a family fell ill after eating a stale food item at home at Sindhiakhurd of the district, an official said today.
Sujit Kumar, son of Manoj Thakur, and his other brothers and sisters ate the food item made of a pulse last night, Samastipur Block Development Officer (BDO) Bhubneswar Mishra said.
Soon, all of them started vomiting.
The minor boy died on way to hospital while five others were admitted to the Samastipur Sadar Hospital in serious condition, the BDO said.
He said the food item has been sent to laboratory for test.
