1-yr-old boy branded with iron rod in Rajasthan to cure pneumonia, hospitalised

A one-year-old boy was branded with a hot iron rod allegedly by a quack to cure him of pneumonia in Rajasthan's Bhilwara district, police said today.
The boy was today admitted to the district hospital for treatment, MGH Government Hospital's Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Dr S P Agiwal said.
"The boy is suffering from pneumonia. His parents took him to a quack for treatment and he branded him with a hot iron rod around three days back," he said,
The boy's condition is improving, the CMO said.
On the information received from the hospital, the police is interrogating the accused quack Mohan Singh, Station House Officer, Karenda, Shiv Lal, said.
