103 goats swept away in flash floods

About 103 goats worth over Rs one lakh were swept away in flash floods today near Athur in the district.

The owner of the pen nearby a stream in which about 300 goats were kept, complained that the livestock were washed away in flash floods, revenue officials said, adding, nearly 200 of them were rescued.

Revenue Divisional Officer and others visited the spot.
