Upset over being reprimanded by his family, a 12-year-old boy allegedly commited suicide by hanging himself from the ceiling.
Police said Shivam, who hailed from Rasoolabad, was a sixth standard student at a school here and was staying at his uncle's house in the city.
After being caught stealing cooking oil from the house, he was severely reprimanded by his uncle, after which he took the extreme step, a police spokesperson said.
The boy also left behind a suicide note where he sought forgiveness from his father, the spokesperson said, adding that police are investigating the matter.
